I started watching Penthouse: War in Life (not the Penthouse on Netflix :p) and I noticed how much parents would sacrifice for their child in Season 1 and Season 2.
Sacrificial in Season 1: Oh Yoon Hee
In Season 1, we can see how devastated she was because of how Ro Na was unable to enter Cheong-Ah arts school because of her ill relationship with the educator, Cheon Seo Jin.
To make herself feel better, we can often see her intoxicating herself with alcohol, to a point where she did something that she shouldn't. Killing Seol A.
Although she killed Seol-A by mistake, but before she pushed her, she said: "if it wasn't for you, Ro Na would be able to enter. So die."
From there, we can see how much she cares for her daughter, to a point where she would be able to kill someone out of anger and intoxication.
Although she was able to realize her mistakes later, Su Ryeon "threatened" her to surrender herself to the police. Even though she was reluctant to do that, she went either way because she wanted to protect Ro Na and maintain her friendship with Su Ryeon.
Sacrificial in Season 2: Cheon Seo Jin & Ha Yoon Chul
In Season 2, Ha Eun Byeol injured Ro Na on purpose. Hence, making everyone think that she killed Ro Na.
To cover up for her mistakes, her parents Seo Jin and Yoon Chul went insane by trying to make her feel better and to cover up her mistakes.
Firstly, Seo Jin burned her dress (which has Ro Na's blood) and duplicated the dress. Yoon Chul removed her memories by using his medical device and he hired someone to take his daughter's blame. In the end, when he was sent to jail, he did not confess the truth but willingly went to prison instead of Eun Byeol.
Sim Su Ryeon
And finally, let's not forget about Sim Su Ryeon who went through so much to get revenge for Min Seol A.
She risked her life by installing a spy recorder on her husband's phone, secretly blackmailed her neighbors which led to the death of caretaker Min, and meticulously planning how to bring everyone who hurt Seol A.
Although she was lucky enough to be replaced by Na Ae Gyo who died in Season 1, that didn't stop her from continuing to put everyone in their place.
